The first appointment for a new patient in our practice starts with an initial exam. This appointment occurs with our treatment coordinator and the dentist. The treatment coordinator begins by completing a thorough medical history and blood pressure screening; this is followed by charting existing dental work and intraoral photos. The dentist then performs an exam and orders the necessary dental x-rays. Following the x-rays, the dentist completes the examination and reviews the findings with the patient.
On occasion, a patient may have an immediate dental need that requires restorative treatment prior to the initial hygiene appointment. If future comprehensive treatment is warranted, a consultation will be scheduled at another time.
Again, we prioritize treatment based on the needs of the individual. The patient is fully aware of any treatment needed and their financial responsibility.
