Our Doctor’s Assistants

Deb, Certified Dental Assistant

A Berks County native, I was born and raised in West Reading and graduated from Wyomissing Area High School.  I attended Northampton Community College’s Dental Assisting program and received my CDA in 1997.  I currently live in Exeter Township with my husband Gary and enjoy exercising, music and animals.  I am proud to say I have been with Penn’s Commons Dental Group for eighteen years and cherish the close relationships I have developed with our patients, my co-workers, and of course doctors Greenlee and Schmoyer.

Heidi, Certified Dental Assistant, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant

My journey here began in 1984.  I had just finished my 2nd year of college and was confused about my career choices. I switched gears and answered an ad that lead me to Penn’s Commons back when the office was located on Penn Street.  With the support of the doctors and my coworkers, I continued educating myself at Harcum College for two additional years in their evening program.  Through their dental program, I earned my license to practice as an EFDA here in Pennsylvania.  Being an Expanded Function Dental Assistant means I can treat patients in some of the same ways the doctors can and aid in a more intimate level of care.

My time here with Jim, Sam and my coworkers has been one filled with encouragement, but certainly, that isn’t the entire story; we are free to be ourselves here. If you’ve spent any length of time in our office hopefully you’ve felt at home. The past 30 plus years have flown by for me.  I am grateful for the trust you the patient have granted me, for the encouragement, laughter and the many friendships I’ve made.

Kenzi, Dental Assistant

I grew up as a patient here at Penn’s Commons. It was at one of my hygiene visits that it all clicked and I said to myself, “I love dentistry and I’d like to work there someday”.  After my schooling at Berks Technical Institute I completed my internship here and became part of the family.

I enjoy working with the doctors and growing as a member of a great team of caregivers.
